Jean-Claude Van Damme is an actor and martial artist from Belgium.
Van Damme’s martial arts action films are his most well-known works. Bloodsport (1988), Kickboxer (1989), Double Impact (1991), Universal Soldier (1992), Hard Target (1993), Timecop (1994), and JCVD (2008) are some of his best-known motion pictures. He is referred to as “The Muscles from Brussels” because of his physique and Belgian ancestry.
Van Damme, who began learning martial arts seriously at the age of eleven, went on to win the title of “Mr. Belgium” after becoming a national champion bodybuilder and martial artist in Belgium. In order to pursue a career in film, he immigrated to the US in 1982. Bloodsport (1988), which was based on a Frank Dux novella, was a commercial success.
